September report

We’re sharing the results and news of September with you: 🔸 CEO of Starenki, Varvara Tertychna, spoke at the international W4UA SUMMIT in the city of Lviv, Poland. The summit brought together non-governmental organizations, businesses, and government institutions to support Ukraine in effectively addressing the consequences of war. 🔸 We held a lecture-meeting with the charitable foundations Rescue Now and the “Fundacja Marii Mytrofanovoi” (Maria Mytrofanova Foundation). During the lecture, CEO of Starenki Varvara Tertychna talked about the global trend of aging populations, the role of the civil sector in assisting the elderly in Ukraine, and the necessary knowledge to be not just help but also a voice for the elderly. 🔸 We met online with students from the Social Work Department of Šiauliai University (Lithuania). The head of our volunteer team, Yulia Fituni, shared our experience and inspired the next generation of social workers to improve the lives of the elderly in their country. 🔸 The Head of Advocacy at Starenki, Alina Dyachenko, participated in the forum of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, where, along with experts and organization representatives, she formulated a series of proposals to improve the lives of people with disabilities (including the elderly). 🔸 A significant part of the team met in Kyiv, where we discussed our work and plans for the next year. We’ve always worked remotely, but from time to time, we try to meet offline. 🔸 Our volunteer team welcomed +60 new volunteers, including those from the city of Poltava🔥 And now, to the acknowledgments! 🔸 We thank “Kyiv Digital” for the opportunity to be in the favorite app of Kyiv residents and for providing a flow of new volunteers. 🔸 We appreciate LLC “Tedys Ukraine” for providing a vehicle and driver for distributing food packages to the elderly in Dnipro. 🔸 We thank the “Doubledecker cake&coffee” team for their quick response and providing treats for the elderly at two tea parties in Dnipro. 🔸 We’re grateful to each of you who chose to support our foundation.
