If asked to describe 2023 in one word, we would choose “unity.”
Thanks to the collective actions of our volunteers, the dedication of our team, reliable local partners, active support from the corporate sector, and international civil society organizations, this year the “Starenki” Charity Fund provided 17,612 aid packages to lonely elderly people in over 150 settlements across ten regions of Ukraine, totaling more than 13 million hryvnias*.
Despite challenges and amidst a significant war, the Starenki team found the strength to grow quantitatively and qualitatively: with a team of over 10 inspired and motivated colleagues, we are expanding the Fund’s activities from direct assistance to the development of conscious communities and advocacy for the rights and interests of the elderly.
We are proud of these achievements and our partners, without whom none of this would have been possible.
We have high hopes that this year will be rich in new joint projects for us. Because it will mean wider and greater assistance to lonely elderly people in need in Ukraine, whose numbers are increasing every year.
The “Starenki” Fund wants to document successful stories of cooperation and unity, so at the end of the year, we applied for the Responsibility Award, established by the Bogdan Havrylyshyn Family Fund.
This is not only an opportunity to celebrate our successes but also to inspire others to unite for good deeds.
