June&August report

In July and August, with the help of our friends at Caritas and Territorial Centers in Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Sumy, we were able to support the elderly in the following ways:

🔸We distributed 298 food packages. We provided 22 elderly men and women with warmth kits to prepare them for the cool autumn season.

1,892 individuals received hygiene kits.

🔸140 isolated elderly people received essential household cleaning supplies and tableware.

🔸In addition to direct aid, we held 5 warm tea gatherings for seniors in 5 cities across Ukraine during the two summer months:

☕️ Kyiv. Our volunteers organized an inspiring tea gathering with a candle-making workshop for seniors in the Shevchenkivskyi district—a memorable event for both the elderly and organizers. It’s already etched in their memories. 🥰

☕️ Opishnia. A tea gathering with heartfelt conversations at the Opishnia Social Services Center—a much-needed moment of connection for the elderly. 🫂

☕️ Poltava. An excursion to the scenic Botanical Garden of Poltava Pedagogical University, where seniors enjoyed exotic plants and an outdoor treat. 🍃

☕️ Lviv. This tea gathering was especially moving, held at the Bakhmut Support Center for elderly people from Bakhmut. The seniors held the volunteers’ hands and cried as they took a group photo—such a touching moment. 💔

☕️ Dnipro. This gathering was organized with support from Caritas Donetsk. It brought together both local and internally displaced seniors. Project managers, social workers, a psychologist, and volunteers from Caritas and Starenki joined the event.
