Our tea parties

Today, we would like to tell you about our tea gatherings — one of the warmest projects of our Fund for both grandmas and grandpas, as well as for our volunteers. This is a special event where the elderly have the opportunity to leave their homes, dress up, and wear festive attire. For many of them, it is the only chance to “step out into the world,” where they can socialize with their peers and younger generations — our volunteers — have a good time, participate in workshops, gain new experiences, and create new bright moments in their lives.

On July 12th, in Dnipro, Starenki coordinators Sonia and Ksyusha, together with Caritas Donetsk in Dnipro, organized an event for 30 elderly people — locals, internally displaced persons, and those registered at the local community center. The event involved project managers, social workers, a psychologist, and volunteers from both Caritas and Starenki, along with the wonderful photographer Anna Savchenko🧡

We are delighted and proud of our community, which, despite electricity issues, adapts tea gatherings to the blackout schedules so that the elderly can attend the event in an air-conditioned room. We thank our partners who support us to ensure that the tables are always filled with treats from the cafes “Bonita” and “Doubledecker cake & coffee.”

We thank our volunteers and partners for their dedication and joint efforts.

The best way to describe the event is to experience it firsthand. Join us in the cities where the Fund is present. And if you wish to organize an event in your own locality, we are happy to help and share everything we know.
