Mrs. Hanna Stepanivna

People sometimes complain that life makes choices for them, forcing them to do things they wouldn’t want to. However, Mrs. Hanna Stepanivna, despite her venerable age and challenging fate, doesn’t see it that way at all. In her childhood, to help her parents with her siblings, she left school without completing the second grade. She describes it herself, saying, “Yes, it was a tough choice for both me and my parents. But helping the family was always the top priority for me.”

The lack of education posed challenges in finding a good job, but it didn’t hinder her from being happy and talented. As long as her health allowed, Hanna embroidered until the late hours of the night because she enjoyed it so much. So, her home is filled with many handcrafted items she created, each preserving stories associated with them. Stories of honest labor, love for family, and inspiration stronger than any adversity.

All of this our partners from “Caritas Kramatorsk” could admire when delivering a food package from the “Starenki” foundation to Hanna Stepanivna.
