No one knows in advance what awaits us in the future. Halyna shared that she always loved the active rhythm of life: she was busy in the country house, bred chickens, and did a lot of household chores. The woman was also fond of needlework. She spent a lot of time embroidering and knitting.
Halyna is now 77 years old. Her husband died 20 years ago. They had no children. Physical health is currently not well enough to cultivate a large plot of land. All that has remained is a small garden near the house. She cannot enjoy needlework anymore since it has become unattainable for Halyna. After an eye operation, her vision deteriorated greatly. Small crosses, stitches, and loops are beyond the control of the old woman now. Despite all the difficulties, Halyna does not complain. But she admits that she would feel much happier if she had children and grandchildren.
“The help given to me by Starenki is very important because my pension is small. I love to bake. Especially the nut cake. Now I bake only for major holidays because nowadays it is a very expensive pleasure,” the woman says.
