March was eventful for us. Here are the news and results we’d like to share:
- We met with the offline team in Kyiv to get to know each other better and work together on our strategy and ideas.
- Participated in the 9th European Congress of Local Self-Government in Poland, where Starenki CEO Varvara Tertychna took part in a panel discussion on ‘Challenges of policies regarding the elderly at the local and regional levels.’
- Organized a meeting of the Starenki volunteer community in Kyiv for communication, networking, and mutual support.
- Conducted a webinar with UVС on safety in working with the elderly, where the head of the Fund’s volunteer direction, Yulia Fituni, talked about taking care of one’s mental health while helping others.
- Presented Starenki’s activities at the event ‘Coffee Time & NGOs’ for charitable foundations and NGOs helping in Ukraine, and learned about the activities of about 20 other NGOs and charitable foundations in Ukraine working on various topics.
- Made a visit-introduction to the new coordinators of the Technical Working Group on Age and Disability, of which we have been members for over a year.
- Participated in the 2nd Annual Ukrainian Aid Leadership Conference, where we learned about the current problems and challenges of Ukrainian NGOs and charitable foundations working with international aid in crisis situations.
- Conducted presentations of the Starenki fund and talked about the needs of the elderly to students at an innovative private lyceum in Lviv and at a private school in Irpin.
