Conscientious, Friendly, Responsible, and Highly Experienced

This is typically how older employees turn out to be when employers, despite existing stereotypes, hire them. The challenges and opportunities of employing older people in Ukrainian companies, general labor market trends, and the enormous potential that older people can bring to the Ukrainian economy were discussed at the CSR Breakfast organized by CSR Ukraine and the Blagomay Foundation.

Among the speakers was our Head of Advocacy, Alina Dyachenko, who spoke about global experiences and the importance of labor activity among older people for the well-being of society as a whole. “Older people who feel needed and have the opportunity to realize their skills and abilities feel happier, and consequently suffer fewer physical and mental illnesses. As a result, there is less strain on the medical and social systems, and they make a powerful contribution to the development of their countries and communities,” our expert noted.

The morning discussion also included representatives from government initiatives, Ukrainian businesses, HR departments, and charitable organizations specializing in working with older people.

We are very pleased to participate in such events because they not only draw public attention to the topic of older people in Ukraine but also expand perceptions and change existing stereotypes about older individuals. This, in turn, moves us all towards building a world that is friendly to people of all ages.
