September Report

We started September quite actively, although we were forced to adapt to current reality and were not able to work at full capacity. We joke that the ideal volunteer now should look like this: vaccinated against all diseases, but wearing a mask; equipped with a tactical first aid kit and an armored car; knowing the map of all shelters and having a lot of free time. Although this is a joke, we follow the necessary safety measures and encourage everyone to do the same. Despite the shelling, together with volunteers we managed to help 3,106 people in Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kolomyia, and Ternopil with food kits. Our brave partners brought so much needed food and water to Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia 🙌 We managed to organize three tea parties in Kyiv! In such difficult times, such events help a lot to stay together, to see how many wonderful people are around and that we are getting stronger every day. In October, we will have to take a break, because the number of air alarms increased, which makes it difficult to carry out events as planned. At the same time, a couple thousands kilometers away, a concert was held in Holland, where they played a wonderful concert for people of a respectable age. In this way, they were able to raise 1,257 euros to help the elderly in Ukraine. And the Ukrainian community in Chile and the Ukrainian-Chilean organization “Malva” collected funds for 60 food kits for our recipients during a cultural charity event in Santiago! We are sincerely grateful for such activity! Join our help https://starenki.com.ua/help/ (active link is always in the profile header). The last and no less important thanks section: thank you to all the volunteers who were able to find the time and opportunity to join the deliveries and tea parties! To our strong coordinators who received supplies and distributed aid, to friends of friends, to volunteers who handed over juices for the tea party (we had them left for one more event), to friends from the State Emergency Service, who on their day off helped with 8 tons of products, a complete stranger IDPs who also decided to help on the spot. Slava Ukraini!
